A Walmart store on San Antonio’s West Side is getting a major renovation as part of the company’s larger investment in its Texas locations.
The store at 8923 W. Military Drive will get new features like a sushi bar, fresh tortillas, more clearance aisles, and a better waiting area for the Auto Care Center. The goal is to improve the shopping experience and offer more fresh food options that Texas customers enjoy.
A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows the project will cost almost $1.9 million. The store will stay open during construction, but some departments will move to different areas while work is underway.
This renovation is part of Walmart’s bigger plan to update stores across Texas. The company recently said it will spend over $2.5 billion on upgrades throughout the state.
