Jeff Bezos’ aerospace company is expanding its Texas operations with a 1.3-million-square-foot facility that will manufacture satellite technology and communications equipment.
Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, has announced plans to build a massive new manufacturing campus in Hutto, Texas, bringing more than 2,000 jobs and over $554 million in capital investment to the Central Texas community northeast of Austin.
The new facility, named Constellation Park, will cover approximately 1.3 million square feet and serve as a major production hub for Blue Origin’s satellite communications technology, advanced electronics, and other space-related manufacturing operations.
The project was announced by Blue Origin on October 8, 2026, marking another significant investment in Texas’ rapidly expanding aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries.
According to the Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Blue Origin Manufacturing LLC plans to invest $554.78 million in the new campus. The state has approved an $18.17 million Texas Enterprise Fund grant and a $10,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus to support the expansion.
New Texas Facility Will Manufacture Satellite Communications Technology
Unlike Blue Origin’s launch facilities, which focus on sending rockets and spacecraft into space, Constellation Park will concentrate on manufacturing technology that supports satellite operations and global communications.
One of the campus’s primary responsibilities will be producing equipment for **TeraWave**, Blue Origin’s satellite communications network designed to provide high-speed connectivity to businesses, government agencies, and data centers.
According to the company, TeraWave is designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 terabits per second to locations around the world.
The Hutto campus will also support production of Quartz, Blue Origin’s ground-based communications network, which uses 3.7-meter antennas to communicate with spacecraft operating in low Earth orbit.
Other manufacturing operations planned for Constellation Park include solar arrays, avionics, telecommunications components, and additional satellite hardware.
Together, these operations will establish Hutto as an important manufacturing location for Blue Origin’s growing space infrastructure business.
More Than 2,000 Jobs Expected Over the Next Decade
Blue Origin expects its new Texas manufacturing campus to create more than 2,000 jobs over the next 10 years.
The positions will include advanced manufacturing and related roles supporting the company’s expanding satellite and telecommunications operations.
The project could also benefit businesses throughout Central Texas as local suppliers, contractors, and service providers help support construction and ongoing manufacturing activity.
Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp highlighted the company’s confidence in Texas and its workforce when announcing the expansion.
> “We’re proud to grow our footprint here in Texas, tap into the world-class talent this state has to offer, and help ensure America remains the leader in space innovation.”
The investment adds another major aerospace employer to the Austin-area economy, which has attracted a growing concentration of technology, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing companies.
Hutto Emerging as a Central Texas Technology and Manufacturing Hub
Hutto, located in Williamson County northeast of Austin, has increasingly attracted major industrial and technology investments.
The Blue Origin facility will be located along the Highway 79 corridor, an area experiencing significant commercial and industrial development.
According to Austin NPR affiliate KUT, Blue Origin also plans to collaborate with Hutto Independent School District on paid internships for high school students and support for career and technical education programs.
The partnership could introduce local students to careers in aerospace manufacturing and help develop a future workforce for the facility.
Hutto Mayor Mike Snyder told KUT that the arrival of Blue Origin, alongside other major technology companies, is helping establish the city as an important center along the Highway 79 technology corridor.
The addition of thousands of skilled jobs could further accelerate the area’s economic growth, increasing demand for housing, local services, and supporting businesses as the campus develops.
Blue Origin Continues Nearly 20 Years of Operations in Texas
Although Constellation Park represents a substantial expansion, Blue Origin is no stranger to Texas.
The company established Launch Site One near Van Horn in West Texas in 2006, making the state an important part of its spaceflight operations for nearly two decades.
That private launch facility has served as the home of Blue Origin’s New Shepard suborbital rocket program, which has carried research payloads and passengers beyond the internationally recognized boundary of space.
Blue Origin currently employs more than 550 people in Texas, according to the company’s announcement.
