The Merc, a new retail and entertainment district under construction along UTSA Boulevard in Northwest San Antonio, has announced its first group of tenants as construction moves forward.
Schumacher Interests is developing The Merc as a walkable destination with recreation, wellness, dining, and spaces for community gathering, rather than a typical shopping center.
The first confirmed tenants include:
- Wild Goji Sushi (new concept from the local restaurant group)
- Frenchies Modern Nail Care
- Pür & Simple (Canadian brunch chain)
- Pure Green (New York-based juice bar)
- Hawaiian Bros Island Grill
Developers say they want to mix local businesses with national brands and create a place where visitors will want to stay and enjoy their time.
One of the main features will be Park Golf, a nine-hole golf attraction. It will be part of a larger set of amenities, including trails, open spaces for gatherings, and a small concert venue.
The first phase of construction should finish by the end of summer, and the first businesses are expected to open in early 2027.
Why It Matters
The project highlights:
- Continued commercial growth in Northwest San Antonio
- Rising demand for experiential retail and entertainment destinations
- Investment in mixed-use, pedestrian-focused developments
- Expansion of dining, recreation, and wellness-focused businesses
