Brewingz Sports Bar & Grill (a long time fixture in the Houston area) appears to have shut down all of its remaining locations. That would appear to be the end of the business as it once had over 20 restaurants throughout Greater Houston.
Reports of the closures have been out on social media for weeks. Chron reports that attempts to get through to any of the chain’s six remaining Houston area locations all resulted in disconnected phones. A lockout notice for unpaid rent was also reportedly posted at the Uvalde Road location.
Further evidence of the closure is the fact that Brewingz’s Facebook and Instagram pages have been dead since 20th September. The sales tax permits for the operating company (GSM Wings LLC) are also inactive. Only two of the six remaining locations still have active TABC permits.
Brewingz started out in the Humble area on FM 1960 and gradually expanded throughout Greater Houston and into San Antonio. They were known as a chicken wing chain with a sports bar vibe and a very casual dining experience.
The apparent closures come after a number of significant business developments. In June 2025 GSM Wings LLC was acquired by GPC Investments (a New Jersey company which is a manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies).
The operator was also in financial difficulty with US Foods (a food distributor) commencing proceedings against GSM Wings in 2025 over unpaid products and services. A $3.1m default judgment was entered against the company in January 2026 and that was dismissed in July 2026.
Although the evidence we have at the moment would suggest the chain has gone, Brewingz have not issued an official statement to that effect.
