State Street Invests in Texas Stock Exchange, Joining Major Wall Street Backers

TXSE Group, the parent company of the Dallas-based Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), announced Tuesday that financial services giant State Street has made an equity investment in the company, adding another major institutional investor to the growing Texas exchange.

State Street, the world’s largest exchange-traded fund (ETF) servicer, joins an investor group that includes BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Citadel Securities, J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America.

The financial terms of State Street’s investment were not disclosed.

The investment is another significant development for the Texas Stock Exchange, which aims to challenge the dominance of the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq by offering companies and investment funds an alternative venue for trading and public listings.

“Texas is an important market for State Street and many of the clients we serve, and a technology innovation hub for our firm,” said Ronald P. O’Hanley, chairman and CEO of State Street.

State Street played a pioneering role in the American ETF industry, helping launch the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) in 1993. As of September 30, 2026, the company’s investment management division reported approximately $2.3 trillion in ETF assets.

The announcement comes as the Texas Stock Exchange continues expanding its presence in U.S. financial markets. Earlier this month, Energy Transfer, Sunoco, SunocoCorp and USA Compression Partners transferred their primary stock listings to the exchange, representing nearly $100 billion in combined market capitalization at the time.

Headquartered in Dallas, TXSE has positioned itself as a competitor to established Wall Street exchanges, with the goal of attracting corporate listings, exchange-traded products and institutional market participants.

The addition of State Street further strengthens the exchange’s ties to major financial institutions while reinforcing Texas’ growing role in the nation’s capital markets.
