Inside RobotLAB: How Texas company is helping businesses nationwide fill labor gaps with AI

RobotLAB, a Texas-based robotics company, is playing a growing role in helping businesses across the U.S. address labor shortages by deploying AI-powered robots across a wide range of industries. With 36 locations nationwide, the company supplies more than 50 types of robots designed for tasks such as cleaning, customer service, security, food delivery, warehouse logistics, and even hazardous-response situations.

According to CEO Elad Inbar, demand is being driven by jobs that are difficult to staff, repetitive, or unsafe for humans. Cleaning robots, in particular, have seen rapid adoption in hospitals, airports, and grocery stores, where they can cover hundreds of thousands of square feet per day. RobotLAB collaborates closely with businesses to tailor robotic solutions, train staff, and integrate AI in a way that complements, rather than replaces, human workers.

Inbar says robots are filling roles that many workers no longer want, allowing companies to maintain productivity while easing labor pressures. Looking ahead, he predicts that the next major leap will be humanoid robots, which he believes could begin appearing in homes by the end of the decade, capable of tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and basic maintenance, thanks to advances in AI software and hardware.

RobotLAB is also active in education, partnering with about two-thirds of U.S. school districts to help students and teachers integrate robotics and AI into learning. The company develops curricula and lesson plans that utilize robots to teach math, physics, and engineering concepts, helping to prepare the next generation for an AI-driven workforce.

Inbar also emphasized the importance of balanced AI regulation, stating that innovation must be protected to maintain the U.S.’s competitiveness globally, particularly against countries like China, while still safeguarding privacy and security.
