CesiumAstro Plans $500M Investment In Texas

Advanced space communications firm CesiumAstro is planning a major expansion in Central Texas, announcing a more than $500 million investment in a new advanced manufacturing facility and global headquarters in Bee Cave. The project is expected to create over 500 high-tech jobs within the next five years, further solidifying Texas’s role in the rapidly growing aerospace, aviation, and defense sectors.

CesiumAstro, headquartered in Texas and operating additional facilities in Colorado, California, the United Kingdom, and Germany, specializes in satellite systems, high-performance communications payloads, and advanced computing technologies. Company leaders said Texas’s strong talent base, business-friendly climate, and public-private partnerships made it the ideal location for its next phase of growth. State leaders echoed that sentiment, noting the investment strengthens Texas’s position as a national hub for space and defense innovation.

In related news, highlighting Texas’ broader technology momentum, Tekscend Photomask Round Rock Inc. is expanding its semiconductor manufacturing operations with the help of a $15.2 million grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund. The Round Rock expansion represents more than $223 million in capital investment, will create 50 new jobs, and increase production capacity by more than 40%. The project also upgrades technology capabilities to support advanced chip manufacturing used in AI, automotive, industrial, and wireless applications.

Together, the two projects underscore Texas’s growing influence in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and semiconductor supply chains.
