Salad and Go to Shutter All Remaining Units in Texas and Oklahoma

Salad and Go is pulling out of Texas and Oklahoma, closing all of its remaining restaurants in those states as part of a major reset for the fast-casual salad chain. The company confirmed it will shut down 32 additional locations, 25 in Texas and seven in Oklahoma, along with a commissary facility, and relocate its headquarters back to Arizona.

The move follows a significant round of closures last fall, when the company shut down 41 restaurants across the same two states. Once the latest closures are complete, Salad and Go will operate 70 restaurants, all located in Arizona and Nevada, with a single central kitchen supporting them. That footprint is less than half of the chain’s total locations at the end of 2024.

The closures are expected to affect about 600 jobs. Despite strong sales growth last year, new CEO Mike Tattersfield, who joined the company in April 2025, has acknowledged that Salad and Go’s rapid expansion strategy was built on a flawed business model. Tattersfield stated that exiting Texas and Oklahoma will enable the company to streamline its operations, consolidate leadership in Phoenix, and refocus on its core priorities, including food quality, menu development, and customer experience.

Tattersfield emphasized that no locations will close in Arizona or Nevada and said the brand plans to reinvest more deeply in its home market. He expressed appreciation for employees impacted by the closures and described the pullback as a necessary step toward stabilizing the business and enabling sustainable growth in the future.

Salad and Go was founded in Arizona in 2013 and later sold to private-equity firm Volt Investment Holdings, which moved the headquarters to Texas and pursued aggressive expansion. Leadership changes, operational challenges, and scrutiny over food safety issues ultimately contributed to the company’s decision to scale back and return to its roots.
